Clear Christmas Tree Ornament with Gifts

This dichroic glass bulb shaped ornament was carefully crafted in Gatlinburg, TN by artist Kimberly Bylo. The artist cuts, layers, and arranges various shapes of glass to create the image of trees with lit up Christmas lights. After meticulously stacking all the little cuts of glass the pieces is fired at a tack fuse temperature of 1425 degrees. This permanently bonds all the cuts of glass, and can change the colors quite dramatically too. A tack fuse remains textural but smooths any sharp edges of the cut glass.
